Yesterday, we took Brandon & Kearston tubing at The Bayview Marina in Ocean City, NJ . The kids had a blast the day before on Waverunners - but today was another awesome day of fun in the sun!
Its funny because, as a local, you never think to do these kind of fun activities unless you are on vacation somewhere in the caribbean. Its nice to know that the fun can still be right in your own back yard :)
Our boat - manned by Captain Cole.
Brandon & Kearston on the boat. They had no idea was tubing was all about - they just thought they were going to float on a tube behind a boat - "That is boring Aunt Paula!".
Uhhhh... its more than just floating!
Pam and Kearston were the 1st ones up!
Brandon gave a big "thumbs up" for the boat to go faster!
Nothing is better than a kid's smile :) Big kid or little kid - it doesn't matter :)
"Go Aunt Paula, go!"
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-haw!
The gang :)

May 2, 2010 wine and cheese pairing class - an evening with dr. john mahoney
Yes, I admit it. I'm a bit of a wine snob as well as a foodie. I can't help it. I love good food paired with great wine. Wine is food. It should enhance your life as well as your palette. So - an idea was born.
Saturday was an awesome night. Pam and I planned a "Wine and Cheese Pairing Class". We asked wine educator Dr. John Mahoney , Ph. D, C.W.E. to be our guest speaker. 22 people were in attendance and it was a hit!
Featured wines were:
1. Rose Cava from Spain
2. Verdejo from Spain
3. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand
4. Pinot Noir from Tasmania
5. Malbec from Argentina
Featured cheeses were:
1. Grand Camembert from France
2. Manchego from Spain
3. Goat Gouda from Netherlands
4. Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy
5. Adriatic Fig Spread from the Mediterranean
We ended with homemade chocolate fudge paired with the Malbec.
The wines were paired with the cheeses as Dr. Mahoney explained how each cheese enhanced the flavor of the wine.
It was an amazing night.
Dr. Mahoney was quite impressed with our table place settings. He said this was quite an "elegant affair". We thought so too :)
Dr. Mahoney welcomed each guest with a glass of Spanish Cava.
A few of our featured wines.
People took lots of notes on the wealth of knowledge that Dr. Mahoney provided during the course of the evening.
Thank you Dr. Mahoney for making our Wine and Cheese Pairing Class a smashing success.
Salud!!!

A lot of people have been asking me how Chelsea Momma is doing. Thank you so much for caring! :) So I thought I'd post an update on my blog.
For those who did not know, Chelsea was diagnosed with lung cancer last month. She is doing pretty well with the meds that Dr. Rew has her on. Yay!
So, we are still taking one day at a time - but she is a brave little pup and getting spoiled more and more each day :)
****Kudos to Dr. Rew at "My Best Friend's Animal Hospital" in Galloway. She is the most caring vet I I have met - she is passionate about her work and really cares about your pet. Awesome. Give her a call at 609.748.1400

Last night we saw John Mayer at the Wachovia in Philly. It was an amazing show. John is such a talented musician. He writes insightful lyrics and is a master on the guitar.
A young boy (maybe 10 years old) was in the front row of the concert. He held up a sign that said "Can I play guitar with you on BELIEF?" . John called him up on the stage and the kid s-h-o -n-e. At the end of the song, John unplugged the guitar and said "this is yours."
WOW
Someone - not me- captured this and put it up on YouTUBE
