monster racing - dover, de http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=64 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=64 Sun, 04 May 2008 20:05:00 GMT

Today I went to Dover, DE to race on the Dover Downs Speedway in a NASCAR with Monster Racing . What a thrill! I rode 10 laps in a very fast hot rod! I have always dreamed of driving very fast on a race track and today my dream came true. It was awesome to ride the monster mile and feel the thrill of the road. I had nervous excitement that I won't soon forget.

Just before my ride. Tom Cruise - watch out.

Me driving in action!

After I pulled in to the pit , the tech told me that I did well on the track.

Helping me out of the car. No doors on these babies!

As you can tell , I enjoyed myself!

Monster racing was fantastic! Now what next dream can I reach for? :)

jake's bar mitzvah http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=63 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=63 Fri, 11 Apr 2008 15:45:00 GMT
Here Jake's father helps him get dressed before the ceremony.

Jake's parents as well as the Rabbi go over the details of the ceremony shortly before it began.

Jake reads from the torah.

Jake is a really cool young man. He is a surfer and his entire theme of the party was surfing and the beach. It was relaxed, fun and hip. No wonder he wanted me to photograph his event! :)

Jake was busting out his best moves on the dance floor with the DJ and dancers.

Jake's parents put together an awesome slide show of Jake's life from infancy to the present. It was enjoyed by all.

Congratulations Jake!

Now I am being called back to Nikon with the beautiful D3. No noise ISOs up to 6400, 12.1 MP camera at 9 fps (frames per second). I am mostly an available light shooter and this camera may take me places where I dare not have ventured before. I am excited to use it and see what rockin' images it can produce for me.

I'll post some test images later and let you be the judge :)

Steven's sister, Beth, came to the session with her beautiful baby boy, Tyler. He just turned 8 months old.

As we ended the session, people dressed in green were running through Ritten House Square screaming as they whizzed by to the nearest pub for a frosty beverage to cella-brate St. Patrick's Day.

I think a few of these guys are aspiring to be future bridesmaids.

happy birthday to me http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=60 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=60 Sun, 16 Mar 2008 12:15:00 GMT
I was born at 4:38am in the morning. Funny thing is that last year I woke up at exactly 4:38am and thought...wow, I just woke up on my birthday!

This photo is me in the 3rd grade. Notice the white barrettes. My mom used to put them in my hair at night before I went to bed telling me this was to "train my straight hair to stay in place". uh huh..that worked like a charm mom! I remember waking up in the morning with an imprint of the barrett on my forehead.

I haven't changed much..other than I just don't like to wear dresses anymore :)

adrien + matt - the carriage house http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=59 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=59 Fri, 14 Mar 2008 15:35:00 GMT

Here is our beautiful bride, Adrien.

Waiting in the car outside of the church.

Matt sees Adrien as she walks up the aisle with her dad.

Big smiles as they are pronounced husband and wife.

St. Michael's church on Mississippi Avenue is beautiful. I love the marble floors.

Adrien and Matt had their lovely reception at The Carriage House in Galloway, NJ.

Such a handsome couple.

As always, the room was gorgeous at The Carriage House.

Adriend and Matt are announced into the room - everyone on their feet!

I love the bird's eye view for the 1st dance.

Such a happy couple!

There was laughter and smiles all night long!

Adrien was dancing to a "jump rope"!

The Carriage House is lovely even long after the sun has gone down.

Best wishes to you both!

christine havrilla - cd cover http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=58 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=58 Mon, 10 Mar 2008 15:52:00 GMT Christine Havrilla last week for her new CD "In My Chair" which is scheduled for release on May 17 2008 at the World Cafe Live .

This image is of Christine leaving her chair to invite you to sit down and enjoy her music.

Christine is quite an accomplished guitarist. I am such a huge fan of hers. I hope to one day learn to play a few of her songs!

I asked Christine what was the inspiration of "Really, Really Good Kiss". She told me...but swore me to secrecy!

Check Christine's music out on iTunes.

miranda + mario | the engagement http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=57 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=57 Sun, 02 Mar 2008 10:57:00 GMT Congress Hall in lovely Cape May NJ. I was so honored that she wanted me to photograph her wedding!

Our location for the shoot was the Cape May Zoo/Park. It was a very cold and windy day (high of 31) and a wind chill in the teens. Miranda and Mario were ready to brave the cold weather and go for it! It was so cold that after 10 minutes I could not feel my finger on the shutter release on my camera!

It turned out to be a great shoot as you can tell.

Miranda and Mario are so happy and so in love.

They went down the slide in the park. Miranda was surprised when she reached a puddle of cold water at the end of the ride!

Miranda said she had not been on a swing in years. I loved their playfulness.

Miranda and Mario said they were "jumping for joy" to be married this upcoming year!

Mario asked for a piggy back ride and Miranda was happy to oblige!

Congratulations Miranda and Mario. I look forward to October 12th 2008!

world cafe live - concert http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=56 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=56 Sat, 01 Mar 2008 10:15:00 GMT World Cafe Live in Philadelphia (31st and Walnut) to photograph Christine Havrilla and Edie Carey live in concert. Christine had secured a press pass for me to photograph the event.

Edie Carey opened for Christine Havrilla . Edie had just driven in from Maine for the concert. It was a long 9 hour drive (with bad traffic). I love how Edie incorporates story telling into her performance. Her voice is angelic.

Christine Havrilla came on stage shortly after Edie's performance ended. Her show was full of energy and passion.

Christine's new CD is scheduled to be released on May 17th 2008.

jackson - 365 days http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=55 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=55 Tue, 19 Feb 2008 19:49:00 GMT Mount View Cockers.

A few months after Oliver passed away I flew out to Seattle, WA over President's Day weekend to pick up my new puppy, Jackson. Although Oliver could never be replaced, this little 8 lb bundle of love filled my heart with the void of losing Ollie.

This was the very 1st photo I took of Jackson while in Seattle. I had a lot of volunteers wanting to hold him for the flight home. He slept on my lap back to the Philadelphia airport (6 hours). He was a good boy (thankfully!)

This image was taken Feb 2007 a few days after Jackson arrived in his new home of Absecon, NJ.

And this image was taken this past weekend, just 1 year after I brought Jackson home. He has certainly grown.

Here is my handsome boy today.

mac - i'm back http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=54 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=54 Mon, 18 Feb 2008 09:28:00 GMT watch this and see for yourself.

I just ordered a Mac Pro with a 30" display (now that's a lot of real estate on the desktop!). I have a few PCs and they get the job done quite nicely, but it's time I come back to Mac. I was a Mac user up to about 15 years ago then I switched to PC. At that time, the software that I wanted to use was available for PC only. Macs have once again grabbed my attention and well, here I am buying a gorgeous Mac.

FYI: I don't feel superior just because I am now part of the Mac family, but I do feel like I will be able to produce even better products for my clients. I'll still be using my PCs for processing orders and powerhouse applicatons but my Mac will be used for album design and bangin' color correction with a lot more ease. :)

How many of you are Mac users out there?

keith urban - boardwalk hall http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=53 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=53 Sat, 16 Feb 2008 08:56:00 GMT Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. He rocked the show.

Carrie Underwood opened for him. Actually I went to the show to see her perform because I really didn't know any of Keith's material. I was pleasantly surprsed when he came onto the stage. He is quite a guitarist. He must have played on at least 7 different guitars. The high light of the show was when he came out into the audience, escorted by security to the middle of the crowd, singing with his electric red guitar. Towards the end of the song, he quickly signed it with a black sharpie and handed it to a fan! How cool was that?

I am not a big county music fan - but I must say I am really turned on to Keith Urban. You haven't seen him perform, get tickets now! :)

whew! what a great weekend! http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=52 http://www.paulacellablog.com/index.cfm?postID=52 Tue, 12 Feb 2008 19:42:00 GMT The Becker in Orange County, California. I arrived late Friday night and returned Monday evening. Here is a shot of Becker and all of us (4 other photographers and an engaged couple that he photographed that night). He gave me permission to steal this image from his blog. I think his record is 9 people in one shot.

He had us all sticking out our tongues - no one told me it was time to just smile!

I discovered a bridal boutique in LA.

Notice the bars on the windows.

Star maps were plentiful in Hollywood. I ate breakast at a place called Nate and Al's. Guess who was sitting next to me...Larry King!

A gorgeous sunset taken from the Santa Monica Pier on the beach.

My trip is not all pleasure. It's a mix of business and pleasure. I am meeting with my all time favorite photographer in Southern California, Becker..otherwise known as [ b ] . His images totally rock and he is a super cool guy with an amazing sense of style (even though he is a Cowboys fan!). I will be meeting with him all day Sunday. I'll bring back a wealth of knowledge to share with my clients and to produce even more awesome images. I've been waiting months for this trip. I can't wait to go!

Forecast for the weekend: sunny and 73 degrees
